Stay True to yourself

Introduction

Being yourself is always the right thing to do. You may not realize it, but we are often not being ourselves because someone expects us to be something else. This can be a parent, friend, or even a spouse! That's why it's essential to check in with yourself daily and ask, "Am I being myself?" If the answer is no, then you need to take action immediately!

Be the YOU that you dream of being

Being the YOU that you dream of being isn't about having a huge house or fancy car. It's about being comfortable in your own skin and doing what makes you happy. You are unique, so don't let anyone make you feel less than who you are.

The sooner you realize this, the sooner we'll be able to start living our lives fully and genuinely enjoying each moment as it comes.

Check in with yourself every day.

Your life is an intricate tapestry of thoughts, feelings, and experiences that have brought you to this moment. This present moment is all you have, so make the most of it! Check in with yourself daily—ask yourself where you are in your journey, what’s working for you and what needs to change. Are there things that need to be addressed? Are new goals or dreams that need to be set on your path? What changes do I need to make to align with my purpose? How can I bring more joy into my life today? How can I contribute more value today than yesterday? These are some questions for reflection on each morning before starting your day. Asking these questions will help keep us grounded on our journey and remind us where we want to go next so we don’t lose sight of our goals as well as give us a chance each day/night before sleeping so we can rest knowing we were able to contribute positively in some way during our time awake.

Leave people who don't RESPECT you and your dreams

There is no point in trying to change people; they have their own journey and can only change themselves. You can only change yourself!

You need to surround yourself with people who support and love you for who you are, not what they want you to be or how much money or fame it will bring them (because, trust me, none of those things matter). Many great people matter your decisions to support your dreams and help make them come true. Be careful not to let anyone influence the decisions you make regarding your career path or life goals.

The truth is that if someone doesn't respect you or your dreams, they don't deserve to be in your life anyway!

Walk away from negativity

People can be toxic. If you have negative people in your life, walk away from them as soon as possible. Don’t let them drag you down, and don't let them take your energy. Don't let them take your time, or love, or money either! These people don’t deserve any of these things from you because they aren't good for anything except negativity.

The best way to make sure this doesn't happen is by being aware of who those people are and watching how they treat others around them—especially when those others are close friends with whom they share a great deal of personal information (which will inevitably come back around). If someone talks negatively about their spouse, family members, significant others or children—and especially if it seems like most of what comes out of their mouth is negative talk about someone else—then that person isn't worth keeping in your life.

Believe in yourself & your dreams

Being yourself is the best thing you can do. It's okay to try new things, and it's okay to not be good at them right away. It's also okay if you don't have a lot of money or have no idea what you want to do in life—that's another excellent reason to stay true to yourself: You can find your own path and create your own success story!

It’s not about how much one knows; it’s about how much one cares. If someone has something that they want but don't care about it enough to make it happen for themselves, then chances are that even if they had all the money in the world, nothing would ever change for them.

Do not let anyone make you feel less than who you are

One of the most important things to remember when it comes to being true to yourself is not letting others make you feel less than who you are.

This includes:

  • Your friends and family; don't let them treat you as though your choices and opinions aren't valid or that they know better than you. They don't! It's your life; it's your body, mind and soul that are at stake here—not theirs.

  • Your boss/employer; if someone in power holds the ability to make decisions about whether or not you keep your job, then your body, mind and soul that person has even more responsibility not to try and control how YOU choose to live YOUR life!

The time is always right to be whom you want.

The time is always right to be who you want to be.

If you are not happy, then change things. If you are not happy with your life, then change things. If you are not happy with your job, then change things. If you are not happy with your partner, then change things.

Conclusion

Always be true to yourself. It’s easy to lose track of who you are when the world constantly tries to tell us what we should be, but it’s important to remember that we were born as unique individuals with our own gifts and talents. If you want something badly enough, then go for it! It can be scary at first, but once you overcome those fears, life will open up in ways that will surprise even yourself.
